Tech Tip: Try the New Teams

Microsoft has rolled out an updated version of the Teams App called New Teams. The previous version of Teams (Classic Teams) will still be available to use.

To turn on New Teams, click the Try the new Teams toggle button in the top left corner of your Teams window.

If you are unable to upgrade to the New Teams, you may need to clear your Teams cache. Please review this article from Microsoft for further instructions.

Options not available in New Teams:

  • Saved chats
  • Annotations from the Presenter toolbar
  • PowerPoint Live Standout
  • Detecting multiple languages for spell check

In addition, you will need to use Classic Teams to schedule and produce Teams Live Events.

To switch back to classic Teams:

  • Click the ellipses button (Settings and more) in the top right corner of your New Teams window.
  • Toggle the button for New Teams to Off.

  • This will load classic Teams.
