IT News: New Help Desk System

On Friday, June 16, 2023, UWM IT will be launching a new Help Desk system. A few items to note moving forward:

  • Emails you receive upon opening a ticket with the Help Desk will now come from helpdesk@it.uwm.edu. Previously, the emails came from helpdesk@uwm.edu.
  • If you are requesting help via email, use the new email address helpdesk@it.uwm.edu instead of the previous email addresses, help@uwm.edu or helpdesk@uwm.edu.
  • The online request form and phone number 1-414-229-4040 for requesting help remain the same. For more information, please visit, uwm.edu/help.

 

How do I know if an email from the Help Desk is legitimate?

Emails sent from the new system will come from helpdesk@it.uwm.edu. Below is an example of what the new emails will look like.

Please Note: There is a link in the email that will allow you to Open Incident in Self Service. This is a feature of the new system and will allow you to view and interact with your incident. More details on this feature and how to use it will be coming soon!
