Workshop series to focus on nutrition, with a dose of Zumba

Academic staff members are invited to October’s Work Break Workshop four-week series, with a half hour of Zumba followed by a discussion on nutrition, starting Wednesday, Oct. 4 at noon in Sandburg Hall’s Channel Lounge. The workshop also will be offered virtually.

To sign up, register through this form.

The workshop is part of a series hosted by the Non-Instructional Academic Staff Subcommittee every other month in 2023-24. They’re held over the lunch hour in person and via Teams. Sessions are recorded when possible.

Every job performed on campus has some level of stress that goes with the specific position. Our seminars will give employees opportunities to step away from their work for 60 minutes every other month and focus on a topic that is not their job. These workshops are designed with a variety of themes and topics.

Each session is planned for 100 attendees and is open first to academic staff. If the sessions have room, registration will be open to all employees on a first come, first served basis.

Upcoming session themes include stress reduction in December, sustainability and gardening prep in February, heart health in April, and plants and butterflies in June. Keep an eye on the UWM events calendar, Provost’s Update newsletter and the Secretary of the University’s emails for more detailed info.
