Webinar features discussion of Black children on the autism spectrum

The co-authors of a book on raising Black children on the autism spectrum are holding a free webinar Thursday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. The book, “The Resistance, Persistence, and Resilience of Black Families Raising Children with Autism,” shares the experiences of Black parents and families.

Elizabeth Drame

The authors are Elizabeth Drame, UWM professor of teaching and learning, and three mothers who have lived the experience – Tara Adams, Judy Nardi, and Veronica Nolden.

The authors will share family stories, lessons learned and key findings. The Medical College of Wisconsin and Marquette will share resources, and the first Milwaukee-area parents to sign up will receive a copy of the book. An informal conversation and question/answer session will be part of the presentation.

Sign up for the free session on Eventbrite. And for more about the book, check out this story.
