Volunteer to mentor students at Hack for Health in April

Faculty and staff are encourage to volunteer to mentor students during the inaugural multicampus Hack for Health challenge, sponsored by the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin.

During the hackathon, students will collaborate in teams to address the challenge: “Obstructive Sleep Apnea and its Impact on Risk of Cancer.” Please share the registration link with your students and encourage them to participate. NMSDI is a partnership between UWM, Marquette University and Northwestern Mutual.

Over the course of the hackathon, students will have access to medical and data science experts who will serve as mentors. We are currently seeking volunteers to fill these roles. Mentors will oversee students as they work in teams, be available to offer advice, guidance, general expertise and answer questions. Mentors will have a kick-off event on April 26, and the judging session on April 28.

When registering, select the specific ticket option for mentors. We ask that mentors register no later than April 19.
