Paramedics from five Wisconsin fire departments were honored Friday at UWM as the first in the state to complete a new community paramedics training program.
UWM nursing student Rosalie Smith will represent Wisconsin in the 2016 Miss America Competition airing at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC. Smith will use her background as a member of the Panther Dance Team during the talent portion of the competition. She plans to continue working toward her nursing degree by taking online classes throughout her year as Miss Wisconsin.
The gift will fund a clinical simulation center on the university’s Kenwood Campus, which is home to Wisconsin’s largest nursing program.
To help protect infants, Jennifer Doering developed the “Night Owl Sleeper,” an oval-shaped pod that sounds an alarm if bedding falls on it or an adult rolls over.
