UWM plans events April 13-18 for National Student Employment Week

National Student Employment Week is celebrated across the country in April, and UWM is joining with a week of fun activities for student employees and their supervisors. Sign up to learn the details and complete challenges April 13-18 to earn points. The student team with the most points will take the Panthers at Work Cup home.

Events

April 13

Student Employment Job Fest: Lubar Entrepreneurship Center (LEC), from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Includes a mini career fair for on-campus jobs, and Panther Edge internship employers. Students should attend to find an opportunity!

Dodgeball Challenge: Klotsche Pavilion Gym, from 3-5 p.m.

Space available for 16 teams, on a first come, first serve basis.

Office Decoration: Registered teams pick up office decoration supplies to decorate workspace and show off Panther Pride.

April 14

Spirit Day: Spaights Plaza from noon-12:45 p.m.

Show off your spirit! Get your photo taken with Pounce, enjoy some food, music and meet other Panthers.

April 15

Badminton Doubles Tournament: Klotsche Pavilion Gym, from 3-5 p.m.

The best swing duo will walk away the winner of the tournament! Registration is required.

April 16

How Student Jobs Spark Careers: Invite-only event. Dinner presenting the Spark Discovery Award.

Small Talk, Big Moves: Networking with Confidence: LEC, Innovation Commons, from 3-4 p.m.

April 17

Vogel Palooza: Vogel Hall from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Come to Vogel Hall and get a doughnut, visit the Career Closet and take a professional photo.

April 18

Make a Difference Day: SET-Union Office, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This is a city-wide volunteer event where volunteers help older adults in the community prepare their yards and neighborhood for spring. It’s a great way to bond with your co-workers and bring the fun off-campus.
