The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has been named a top military-friendly online school for 2017 by the SR Education Group, an education research publishing company based in Kirkland, Washington.
The company selected 68 accredited universities offering online degrees and ranked them based on performance in four areas: military culture, online support, financial aid and scheduling flexibility.
UWM is already a destination for students who’ve served in the military and educates more veterans than any other school in Wisconsin. Also, UWM is one of only three universities nationwide partnering with each of these three major veteran support initiatives: Upward Bound, the Pat Tillman Foundation Scholars program, and the Department of Veterans Affairs VetSuccess on Campus program.
Each school rated by SR Education Group had to offer 10 or more online degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree level. SR Education group notes that UWM offers 16 undergraduate online degrees, more than 45 at the graduate level and 32 online certificate programs.
