Wellington, who was featured in a November UWM Report story, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from UWM’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning. He’s now a social media specialist for the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library.

“I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and we’ve come as a team,” Wellington said after the results were announced. “And I could not have asked for a better partner than my sister.”

Wellington and Nelson made a strong run through the season. They won the sixth episode challenge, building a telescope. “We’re the first all-Black team in the U.S. version of the show to win a challenge,” Wellington said.

And they came in second in the seventh episode, building a fashion-worthy handbag that could fit a pet.

Wellington’s family and the siblings’ mother joined them on the competition show’s finale, where their piece, “Christmas Eve on a Cliff,” inspired by family memories, was shown.
