UW System President Tommy Thompson will come to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Friday, Sept. 10, to promote the UW System’s “70 for 70” vaccination incentive campaign.
Thompson is expected to arrive at about 4:30 p.m. and will first visit a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic under the overhang of the Golda Meir Library. UWM Chancellor Mark Mone and Chief Student Affairs Officer Kelly Haag will welcome Thompson.
In the 70 for 70 program, UW System students who are enrolled for Fall 2021 and report their COVID-19 vaccination via their UW campus portal are entered into a drawing to receive a $7,000 scholarship when their campus reaches a 70% vaccination rate. The program does not include UW-Madison or fully online students.
A few parking spaces for TV trucks will be available in the Chapman parking lot, and spaces for other vehicles are available in the Student Union parking structure. Contact John Schumacher at email@example.com for parking codes.
