Faculty and supervisors are encouraged to read and incorporate tips on trauma-informed care for their staffs. The Campus Cares team offers a trauma-informed toolkit for supervisors, and in it are some key questions.

A few questions for supervisors to consider when talking with your staff:

• How is your work impacting you?
• Are there things that you are doing well that make you feel good in your role?
• How are we (supervisor and supervisee) doing? What works well? What can we do better?
• What could be done to improve the culture here?

The questions are intended as a starting point when in conversations with staff members, and help supervisors learn and understand challenges that others face.

Supervisors can then help with referrals and making connections for additional resources for staff.
