Nick Offerman headlines CAB’s Comedy Bash on April 7

Meat lover and carpenter Nick Offerman will headline this year’s Comedy Bash sponsored by UWM’s Campus Activities Board.

Offerman holds many titles, including actor, producer, screenwriter, author, musician, stand-up comedian and carpenter. However, he is known best for his breakout role as Ron Swanson in the NBC television show “Parks and Recreation,” which aired 2009-2015. Offerman has written three books, and he released a Netflix comedy special in 2014 titled “Nick Offerman: American Ham.”

Offerman takes the Milwaukee Theatre stage 7 p.m. Friday, April 7. Doors open at 6 p.m. Buses will be available to take students downtown and back to campus after the show. They will begin loading at 5:30 p.m. outside Lubar Hall. The last bus will leave at 6:30 p.m.

Students can pick up a free ticket beginning Monday, March 27, at the Student Union Information Desk. Students can purchase two additional tickets for $10 each. Faculty, staff and alumni also can purchase tickets for $10 each. A UWM ID is required to pick up any tickets.

The comedy show is planned and organized by the Panther Traditions committee within the Campus Activities Board. CAB is made up of students who plan events for students.

“I’m hoping that this can be the largest event the Campus Activities Board has ever had,” said Michaela Andrew, the Panther Traditions committee coordinator. “There has been a great team working on this event all year long, and we couldn’t wait to be able to announce him and see the campus reaction.”
