Microsoft is introducing an auto-expiration feature in Teams that will automatically delete Teams meeting recordings stored in OneDrive and SharePoint after 60 days if the recording was created by faculty, staff or students. For Teams meeting recordings created by emeriti, annuitants or sponsored users, meeting recordings will auto-expire after 30 days.
Microsoft scheduled this change to take place in early January through mid-February, although no specific date has been announced.
The expiration date can be modified by those who have edit/delete permissions for the recording in OneDrive or SharePoint. When a recording is deleted, they will also be notified via email. The recording can be retrieved from the recycle bin for up to 90 days. For more information on how to manage a meeting recording in Teams, pleaseĀ see our instructions.

Please note: This will not affect any existing meeting recordings created before the feature is deployed.
