UWM Chancellor Mark Mone sat down recently to talk about the state of higher education and how UWM plays a vital role in helping the Milwaukee region thrive.
The 41 minute interview came during an episode of Empowered, a podcast created by former TV journalist Kimberly Kane, now president and CEO of Kane Communications and a member of the UWM Foundation board of directors. The podcast features interviews each month with business and community leaders.
During the episode, “Why College Still Matters,” Mone talks about how the university is navigating the challenges it faces, from the pandemic to budget cuts. He also answers questions submitted by UWM students, faculty and staff.
Mone also gets personal, talking about how he began his career and why he became the first in his family to go to college.
