Kim Litwack, currently associate dean for Academic Affairs in the UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing, this week was named interim dean of the college. She will take over for Dean Sally Lundeen, who will retire on June 30.

Lundeen has been a UWM faculty member since 1985, and dean or interim dean since 1998. Provost Johannes. Britz, who appointed Litwack, called Lundeen a highly effective leader whose influence has been felt in the college, in Milwaukee, across the state, and at national and international levels.

Among Lundeen’s many accomplishments cited by Britz, was the college’s rise to the top 8 percent of 600 nursing programs in the nation, according to “U.S. News & World Report” graduate rankings.
Litwack has been on the nursing faculty since 2004. She has a doctorate in Educational Administration, as well as graduate and undergraduate degrees in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nursing, Counseling and Psychology. Her appointment will begin July 1.
“I am confident that Kim Litwack will continue the College of Nursing’s tradition of excellence. College of Nursing faculty, staff and students will be consulted when a search gets under way,” Britz said.
