Help encourage students to file their 2021-22 FAFSA

Pounce on FAFSA! Filing for the 2021-22 FAFSA is in full swing. Are you meeting with students? If so, please help spread the word and encourage students to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid if they have not done so already.

The 2021-22 FAFSA became available Oct. 1. We do not want students to miss out on funding opportunities. Students attending UWM during Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 terms should complete the 2021-22 FAFSA. It is important to complete the FAFSA now as some programs have limited funds.

Helpful tips:

  • Never pay to submit a financial aid application. Be sure to go to FAFSA.gov or use the myStudentAid mobile app to apply. Select 2021-22 FAFSA. UWM’s school code is 003896.
  • Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your 2019 federal tax information quickly and accurately. If you are unable to utilize the IRS retrieval tool, make sure to use your 2019 federal tax information.
