Students get head start on careers with internships

An internship can be an important part of a college education. About 90% of employers prefer candidates with work experience, according to a 2017 survey published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

At UWM, thousands of students each year complete internships at businesses and nonprofits throughout southeastern Wisconsin, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to fledgling organizations. Those internships helps students develop skills, gain real-world experience and make connections with potential future employers.
