Hundreds of family, friends and staff of the Carmen Schools of Science and Technology filled the Klotsche Center at UWM May 19 for a high-energy celebration of senior signing day for students at Carmen.
UWM Chancellor Mark Mone and Alberto Maldonado, director of the Roberto Hernandez Center and a member of Carmen’s board of directors, welcomed the students, while bands, cheerleaders and even Bango provided the entertainment.
Jennifer Lopez, Carmen chief executive officer, noted that the seniors started high school before the pandemic and had endured adversity. “In a time of uncertainty and anxiety, they rose to the challenge. Whatever path you have chosen, we are deeply, deeply proud of how you responded.”
