UWM has canceled in-person final exams that had been scheduled for 3 p.m. or later on Thursday, Dec. 22, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure safe travel for students.

All Thursday morning in-person finals will be held as scheduled, including those for 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Students with questions or concerns about their scheduled final exams should contact their instructors.

In-person finals that are scheduled for 3 and 5:30 p.m. Thursday are now canceled. Online exams in this time frame will go forward as scheduled.

Instructors will be reaching out to students in canceled sections to give them guidance on how the canceled exam will be handled.

The university understands that this causes disruption for students and instructors, but the safety of our campus community — including students who will travel far distances to get home — comes first.

Residence halls, as usual, will remain open during winter break. Services, such as dining and campus shuttles, will operate under limited schedules.
