Event features photo exhibit, film, discussion on aging

A multi-disciplinary event on Artistic Representations of Aging highlights a photo exhibit, film and panel discussion — all centered around aging.

The Student Gerontology Association and Helen Bader Office of Applied Gerontology invite students, staff and faculty to the event on Friday, April 28, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the UWM Student Union, Alumni Fireside Lounge. See the photo exhibit from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The film begins at 6 p.m., followed by a panel discussion.

“Aging: Reflections of Resilience,” a photo exhibit by alum Guntis Lauzums, focuses on older adults as active members of their communities and highlights artistic expression, friendships, engagement, relationships and service.

The film “Unconditional: A Journey of Selfless Love,” directed by UWM film student Riley Killian, explores the love, care and sacrifices family caregivers give to their loved ones with dementia and memory loss.
