Contribute to the UNITE Program for fall

Looking ahead to this fall, please place UNITE on your calendars for Aug. 23-31.

The goal of UNITE is to welcome students who live off-campus back to UWM, to communicate expectations for being a good neighbor and to encourage students to get connected with and explore the community near campus.

This year, we will again be delivering door hangers to off-campus addresses with a QR code directing students to visit the UNITE website. You can submit your contribution by filling out the form at the bottom of the event page.

Submissions will be reviewed by Neighborhood Housing staff and posted to the UNITE website prior to the event. Staff will email the contact to confirm when the submission has been posted. Please allow three to five business days for a response. The deadline to submit your contribution to the site is Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Please email Alyssa Wastradowski, Neighborhood Housing coordinator, at with any questions. If you aren’t sure if your item is OK, just ask — we are happy to give feedback and answer any questions.

Contribute giveaway items or information

Take advantage of this opportunity to reach out to and get the attention of UWM students before the Fall semester begins.  Contributions should be engaging and action-oriented; giveaway items like t-shirts, keychains, etc. are preferred. At minimum, contributions should include events, deals or discounts listed. The deadline for students to pick up items as a part of the UNITE program is Thursday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m.

Please adhere to the following guidelines as you consider your contribution:

  • Quantity of at least 1000
  • Decide if you will have students come to your location to retrieve their giveaway or if you will have it delivered to the Neighborhood Housing Office between July 12 and Aug. 18.
  • If students are to pick up an item from the Neighborhood Housing Office, items must be delivered in a way that makes them easy to distribute.
  • Items must be action-oriented and/or engaging (Event flyer, coupon, discount, or Give-a-Way item)  Neighborhood Housing will be offering good neighbor t-shirts and chip clips to students this year.
  • There are no size and weight limitations as nothing will be placed inside a bag this year.
  • No general office brochures or business cards please!
  • If you must include some sort of contact or general info, it should be stapled to an event flyer prior to delivery.
