Celebrating 10 years of Coffeeshop Astrophysics

Ten years ago, we started Coffeeshop Astrophysics, a science outreach group formed by graduate students and postdocs at the UWM Center for Gravitation, Cosmology & Astrophysics. We have given dozens of science talks at Anodyne Coffee in Walker’s Point on wide-ranging topics in physics.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, the UWM campus community is invited to a special presentation given by former members of our group at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center on Friday, April 26. We will talk about the importance of science communication, share our history and discuss the connections we’ve made with the Milwaukee community.

The event will be held in the LEC’s Atrium; doors open at 6 p.m and the presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Free appetizers will be provided, and a bar will have drinks available for purchase. This event is free to attend, but please RSVP at this link.
