Celebrate UWM on 414 Day

As the city celebrates all things Milwaukee on 414 Day (April 14), UWM will celebrate the powerful impact the university has on the region during the fourth annual 414 for UWM Giving Days, April 14-16.

The fun begins with a Campus Activities Board-sponsored 414 Day gathering on Spaights Plaza on Sunday, April 14, from 1 to 3 p.m.

From April 14 to Tuesday, April 16, all alumni and friends of UWM are encouraged to make a gift to one or more of the following:

  • Panther Pathways Scholarship Fund, which supports talented students in need.
  • Ignite Fund, which allows UWM to address challenges and opportunities as they arise.
  • Any other UWM school, college or program.

On April 16, a wrap-up celebration – with music, food, games, crafts and photo opportunities – will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the UWM Student Union Concourse. No registration is required.

Help spread the word and raise support for UWM by signing up to be a 414 for UWM ambassador. You can even make a gift today that will count toward the total raised.

As one enthusiastic alumnus, Matt Mahoney (’10 BBA Marketing and Finance, ’18 MBA), posted on Facebook during a previous campaign:

“We are proud to support UWM on #414forUWM day of giving. It doesn’t have to be a lot – every dollar helps! C’mon competitive people, keep the ball rolling!”

Mahoney and his wife, Rachel Mahoney (’11 BA Psychology, ’13 MSW Social Work), were members of the UWM swimming and diving team.

Several lead donors have issued challenges or promised to match gifts made to specific areas. A full list of those opportunities will be revealed on April 10 at  uwm414day.org.
