Carmen Schools celebrate third annual senior signing day at UWM Panther Arena

The UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena was filled with cheers, music and pride as hundreds of students, families and staff from Carmen Schools of Science and Technology gathered to celebrate Senior Signing Day recently. This milestone event honored the class of 2025 while inspiring younger students to envision their own futures.

The celebration brought together 250 seniors from Carmen’s three high schools — Carmen Northwest, Carmen South and Carmen Southeast — to announce their next steps, whether college, military service, public service, or careers in business and industry. The May 20 event also included the unveiling of the collective scholarship total earned by the class of 2025 — nearly $30 million.

The program was emceed by Latrice Harris, the acting director of Black Student Initiatives at Marquette University. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley also addressed the crowd, offering words of encouragement and pride in the city’s youth. Aaron Lippman, Carmen Schools of Science and Technology chief executive officer, reflected on the significance of the day in his remarks.

UWM has been an official sponsor of the event since its launch in 2022. Holding it in the UWM Panther Arena, where thousands of UWM graduates received their diplomas just two days prior, underscored the shared vision of educational achievement and opportunity for Milwaukee’s youth.
