Call for nominations for Inclusive Excellence Champion Award

The Inclusive Excellence Champion Award (formerly DEI Champion Award) honors and showcases people who have made outstanding contributions to increasing a sense of belonging and inclusion at UWM. All current faculty and staff members are eligible. One award of $1,500 (pre-tax) will be made to an individual through a payment processed by UWM’s payroll unit.

  • Bring a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, values and beliefs as assets to a program/department; and
  • Address key areas such as recruitment, retention, campus/department climate, research, clinical practice or community outreach.
  • Any UWM employee or student may nominate individuals for this award.

  • A completed nomination form
  • Two letters of support (limit two-page, single-spaced per letter) that includes first-hand knowledge of the nominee’s contributions
  • An abbreviated resume/CV (limit two-page, single-spaced)

Nomination materials should be combined into one PDF file and emailed to Chia Youyee Vang, vice chancellor for DEI, at vangcy@uwm.edu, by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30.
