Several graduate programs at UW-Milwaukee were ranked among the best in the country in the 2026 graduate school rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
UWM has the No. 13 library and information studies program in the United States, according to the latest rankings. Three other programs at UWM were ranked in the top 25% of programs nationwide:
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Social work
Two other UWM programs fell just outside the top 25%:
- Clinical psychology
- Speech-language pathology
In addition, several other UWM graduate programs were ranked among the top 100 in the country:
- Business, part-time MBA
- Nursing, master’s degree
- Nursing, doctor of nursing practice
- Clinical psychology
- Biostatistics
- Economics
- Health care management
- History
- Physics
- Political science
- Sociology
The U.S. News best graduate school rankings are based on two factors: expert opinion about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s academic productivity and postgraduate outcomes. In addition, rankings in some disciplines are calculated from peer assessment surveys.
