The UWM Food Center and Pantry is experiencing higher-than-normal visits and is looking for support from our UWM community.
Right now, we are seeing between 300 and 350 students each week in the food pantry. This has made it difficult to keep our shelves full. If you are interested in donating to the pantry, here is how to help:
- Make a monetary contribution online: Go uwm.edu/give, click “Give.” In the search box, enter Food Pantry. This will help to ensure we have adequate funds to operate during the fall semester.
- Host a food drive (Email foodassist@uwm.edu to get started.).
- Donate from our Amazon wish list found on the Food Center and Pantry site.
- Clean out your cupboards and donate any unopened, unexpired items.
We are also in need of volunteers over the summer to help with stocking shelves, assisting during open hours, and distributing diapers and wipes to our student parents. Sign up to volunteer:
Our Food Center and Pantry Advisory Committee is also looking for new members. This committee helps to support the food pantry operations by hosting drives, creating new partnerships and collecting our donation bins. If you are interested in joining, please email us at foodassist@uwm.edu.
