UWM’s Center for Student Experience and Talent is offering training this fall for supervisors of student employees through Panther GROW, a short, structured conversation protocol.
The in-person sessions are two hours and is intended to support supervisors of student employees, helping students discuss the transferable skills they gain through their coursework and on-campus jobs. Sessions are offered in Vogel Hall, Room 170.

The University of Iowa created this intervention in 2009, and over 150 U.S. universities have adopted it since then. Research shows that students who have these conversations with their supervisors stay enrolled in school at a higher rate. They’re able to talk about the skills they’ve gained how they transfer across schoolwork, on-campus employment and their future career.
