414 for UWM Giving Day kicks off on April 13-14

UW-Milwaukee is preparing for the third annual 414 for UWM Giving Day, held from noon to noon on April 13 through April 14. The 24-hour giving event coincides with “Milwaukee Day,” when current and former residents of Milwaukee’s 414 area code celebrate our city.

In 2022, more than 1,200 alumni, friends and employees generously contributed over $480,000 to more than 166 areas of campus. In preparation for this year’s event, UWM’s University Advancement is seeking volunteer 414 Day ambassadors to help spread the word. Ambassadors will receive a custom giving link and access to turnkey social posts.

“This year we have some big goals, which include unlocking over $100,000 in challenges from generous donors. Support and advocacy for UWM is critical for our state and region, as over 80% of UWM alumni of the last decade live and work in Wisconsin. Our alumni contribute to the economic growth and workforce of our state. UWM is a special place, and 414 Day is a great opportunity for us all to show our support,” says Amy Lensing Tate, assistant vice chancellor of Alumni Relations.

Donors can amplify their impact by taking part in one of more than 20 matches and challenges across the university. Once specific goals are met, these matches and challenges will unlock more than $100,000 in additional funding for UWM.
