Print Inventory

The John E. Brush Photo Collection contains 1,300 prints, 5 lantern slides, and over 1,300 35mm negatives. Raised in India, Brush returned to the United States after graduating from Woodstock School in Mussoorie, and earned a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Brush served on the faculty of Rutgers University Department of Geography for 35 years. Both his research and personal life brought him back to India multiple times, as evidenced by this collection of prints and negatives.

Stored in 10 boxes by collection, the finding aid is sorted alphabetically by state or union territory. Please view the Brush Inventory Key to understand the PDF documents. For a quick list of cities found in the collection, please see theĀ Brush city checklist
