Welcome from the Director of the UWM Libraries
The UWM Libraries—the Golda Meir Library on the Milwaukee campus and a branch, the UWM at Waukesha Library—are committed to promoting student success, research excellence, and community engagement at UWM, one of the nation’s top research universities.
We are the heart of UWM, providing critical resources and services to our 24,000 students and over 1,500 faculty and instructional staff. Our students benefit from information literacy instruction, one-on-one research consultations with expert librarians, and spaces that support teaching and learning. We promote research excellence by acquiring, curating, and preserving scholarship as well as by providing access to resources that we do not own, often fulfilling requests for articles within 24 hours. We welcome use of the Libraries by the general community and encourage them to consider joining the Community Borrowing Program.
Please contact me or any other library staff member if you have questions or concerns. We want to hear from you!
—Michael Doylen, Associate Vice Provost & Director of the Libraries
