Teaching About the Armenian Genocide

In April, the Institute of World Affairs hosted a one-day workshop exploring the history of the Armenian genocide and its local connections.  Over twenty K-12 Educators and Community Members joined the program which was also intended to support teachers in meeting Wisconsin’s genocide education mandate for social studies classrooms. In addition to educational sessions on the topic, participants had the opportunity to explore the UWM American Geographical Society Library’s significant collection of maps from World War I.
