Spring 2024 NRC Title VI Call For Proposals Now Open

UWM’s Center for International Education (CIE) is calling for proposals for National Resource Center (NRC) Title VI Grant Funding for activities taking place in the Spring of 2024 through Fall 2024. 

Since 2014, CIE has facilitated the use of U.S. Department of Education National Resource Center (NRC) Title VI funds to support initiatives that strengthen global education and language learning through curriculum development and enhancement, program dissemination, and career and overseas internship development. The general purpose of the NRC Title VI program is to:

  • Establish, strengthen, and operate comprehensive and undergraduate Centers that will be centers for –
    • Teaching less commonly taught languages (LCTLs);
    • Instruction in fields needed to provide a full understanding of areas, regions, or countries where these LCTLSs are used;
    • Research and programs of study that focus on issues of global importance;
    • Teacher training activities and professional development opportunities related to the Center’s world languages, area studies, or international studies focus;
    • Outreach at the local, regional, and national levels for K-16 schools and the general public; 
    • Collaborative activities and partnerships with Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) or Community Colleges; and 
    • Creating and maintaining links with overseas institutions of higher education and other organizations to enhance the center’s programs and instructions.

Through the CIE-NRC Title VI Spring 2024 CFP, you may apply for the following award types:

  1. Event Co-Sponsorship Award
  2. Curriculum Development Award
  3. LCTL Conference Travel Award

Application Deadline: Monday, February 26, 2024.
