
University Housing’s Crib Contest is an opportunity for current res hall residents to show off their unique style for a chance to win FIRST DIBS at their choice of room for the following academic year. Contest Timeline
- Entries will be accepted through Sunday, February 22nd @ 11:59PM.
- Resident voting will open at noon on Wednesday, February 25th.
- Voting ends on Tuesday, March 3rd at noon with winners contacted/announced that evening.
- Winners will receive an email detailing access to self-assignment. Winners who are members of a roommate group will be able to assign other members of their group with them. (Group members will not receive early access to self-assign.)
Eligibility
- Only one entry per room will be accepted. In the instance the room wins, all roommates sharing the space are eligible* to win a prize.
- Entrant must be a current UWM residence hall contract holder. (Kenilworth residents are not eligible.)
- Entrant (and roommates*) must have completed their 2026-2027 continuing resident contract, including payment of the $50 contract fee, by 11:59PM on Sunday, March 1st.
- If a winning entrant does not have a completed 2026-2027 contract (including the payment of the $50 contract fee) submitted by March 1st at 11:59PM, they will forfeit any prize or promotion.
- Submissions will be excluded, and could be documented, if there are visible policy violations.
- By submitting a photo(s), entrants are agreeing to the use of said photo(s), and any additional photos taken of room and occupants during this promotion, for University Housing and UWM promotional materials.
Tips For a Great Photo
- Clean your room and empty garbage cans.
- Make your bed. Create crisp corners and make sure bedding is hanging straight, or tucked in.
- Pay attention to the small details like neatly stacked books, arranged pillows, centered rugs, straight wall art, etc.
- Lighting can create drama, but dark spaces won’t photograph well. Make sure details can be seen in your pics before uploading.
