Wendy Huddleston, UWM Associate Professor, Physical Therapy Program Director

UWM has the only public Doctor of Physical Therapy program in southeastern Wisconsin, with tuition rates far lower than any private schools in the region. Physical therapy, like many other health care professions, desperately needs to increase diversity and UWM’s program is poised to do so being an access University with low tuition. We received authorization to grow our class size from 24-36 doctoral students per year. Our current bottleneck is space. We’ve outgrown our classrooms designed for 24 students, making scheduling difficult. We also need current, state-of-the-art facilities so that our students can be leaders in advocating the return of ‘care’ to healthcare.
