Larry Nelson, Waukesha County Supervisor, District #18

When I was Waukesha Mayor and an active member of the M7 Economic Development Organization, it became clear to me that UWM is a key leader in Wisconsin’s Workforce Development. That is why I strongly support and urge you to support the UWM Health Services Renovation. Investing $181 million will increase enrollment capacity by 15% and help meet the state’s desperate need for more Health Science professionals.

I’m proud of having received my Master’s degree from UWM and to represent UWM@Waukesha on the UWM Board of Visitors, which is how I got to see what a great job they did with the renovations the Legislature approved back in 2017 and completed last year. I also saw the tremendous need to consolidate the Health Services programs into a single up-to-date facility that will be able to give 500 local partners access to an additional 300 Health Science professionals every year, 3,000 more after 10 years!
