Emilie Washer

Emilie Washer is a Water Policy Specialist and Sea Grant UW Water Science-Policy Fellow at the Center for Water Policy. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she completed certificates in Environmental & Natural Resources Law and Animal Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Sciences, with a Minor in Environmental Politics and Policy, from Purdue University.
During law school, Emilie externed for the Waitt Institute and U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley’s office on natural resources and tribal issues, as well as interned for the Natural Resources Defense Council. She also served as a clinical student with the International Animal and Environmental Law Clinic, was a submissions editor for Environmental Law, and co-president of her school's Asian Pacific American Law Student Association chapter.
At the Center for Water Policy, Emilie conducts research at the intersection of law, policy, and science, with a focus on developing interdisciplinary solutions to emerging water challenges in the Great Lakes region.
In her free time, Emilie enjoys being active outdoors, trying new foods, and baking.
