As part of our ongoing community outreach, the School of Freshwater Sciences offers tours to the general public and 9-12 school groups. These tours leave from the lobby area at the main entrance to the building at 600 E. Greenfield Avenue. The walking tour lasts about 90 minutes. It highlights research by our faculty, scientists, and students.
General Public Tours
Public tours are offered quarterly. This tour is intended for individuals and small groups of people. Advanced registration is required. Special tour arrangements can be made for groups of 10-60. Requests for group tours must be made at least three weeks in advance and are subject to availability. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age.
High School Tours
We offer two types of tours for high school students:
- 90-minute tour focused on the science and research of the School of Freshwater Sciences
- 60-minute tour focused on the School and water careers
