Kinship & Responsibility Scholars Scholarship

The UWM campus is home to the highest number of Indigenous American students within the UW System. The financial needs of our students often pose barriers to continuation and completion of higher education. With gratitude to the generosity of Bader Philanthropies the Electa Quinney Institute is able to provide a limited number of $5,000 annual scholarships.

This scholarship is open to all students with an eye to anyone with a connection to a First Nation (American Indian, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian) community.

Accepted students join a cohort (based on classification) while fulfilling requirements in supporting each other and  the community while engaging in rigorous research.

To Apply: Go to the Electa Quinney Institute’s Indigenous Kinship and Responsibility Scholarship via the UWM Scholarship portal. You will find application requirements and deadlines there.
