Summer Experience in Architecture, Engineering and Construction for Rising MPS Juniors and Seniors

Rising MPS (Milwaukee Public Schools) juniors and seniors, you can help design the future! Spend two weeks this summer engaging in hands-on, design, engineering, and construction experiential learning.

With guidance from UWM faculty, college teaching assistants, community partners, and STEM professionals, you will delve into how engineering and architecture are used in the real world. You will design, engineer and build a structure to improve a community gathering place.

Additionally, you’ll participate in college and career readiness sessions that put you on a path toward post-secondary success. All rising MPS juniors and seniors who will be 16 or older by the first day of the camp are eligible to apply.

Your application has two parts; the form below, and your parent/guardian permission form. If accepted, you will be asked to register for college credit at UWM, and do hiring steps with Earn & Learn to accept your place in the program.

Participants who complete the program Earn MPS credit and UWM credit.

Students may apply to extend the experience with a paid internship

No Fees; Special Stipend: There is no charge to participate in this camp. Fees for the camp are fully paid for by a special student award.
