Ghose quoted in a story about AI on WPR

Rina Ghose, professor, industrial & manufacturing engineering, spoke at an event hosted by the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership about how AI is affecting the workforce in Wisconsin. The event was covered in a story on the Wisconsin Public Radio’s webpage. Ghose’s study on this topic was funded with a one-year sponsorship from Microsoft last May.

Microsoft had invested $3.3 billion in several Wisconsin projects in 2024, including establishing the country’s first manufacturing-focused AI Co-Innovation Lab at UWM.

Ghose said AI illustrates that workforce training and retraining is a dynamic, ongoing process because of the need to adapt to new technology. Read more of her comments and some of the interesting findings she shared.
