Prof. Hamid Mohtadi Retires

Prof. Hamid Mohtadi retires! Hamid joined the Department in 1983 serving as a stalwart in Economic Development but with an extremely broad teaching and research portfolio. He studied terrorism, food supply systems, weather and agriculture, political lobbying and much more. His work appeared in the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Development Economics, the American Economic Review (P&P) among many outlets. Chairing a dozen theses, he served as a committed advisor with former students in government, industry, and academia. An active participant in seminars and departmental issues, he will be greatly missed. We wish Hamid a long, fruitful, and enjoyable retirement!
