John Bitzan (PhD 1997) has recently been appointed the Director of the Shelia and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth at North Dakota State University.  He and the institute have been exploring the connection between people’s beliefs about the meaningfulness of their lives and their views about capitalism and entrepreneurship.  John and a coauthor wrote a piece about their study in the Wall Street Journal and a longer description of their work for the Mercatus Center.
