  • Study Abroad Program Manager, Center for International Education

Yomarie “YoMo” Castellano has been part of UWM for more than 22 years and has spent the last 17 in Study Abroad, partnering with faculty to design faculty-led programs and guiding students through transformative global experiences. She is known for her student-centered approach, deep cultural awareness, and ability to help students navigate both the logistics and the personal growth that come with studying abroad. A Fulbright IEA Scholar to Taiwan, she brings a global, equity-focused perspective to international education, shaped in part by her own semester studying abroad in Madrid as an undergraduate.

Outside of UWM, she is a long-distance runner who has completed seven marathons and races across 11 states, including a marathon in her homeland of Puerto Rico, with the personal goal of running at least a half marathon in all 50 states. She also leads Hair Loss Bonita (HairLossBonita.com), where she supports women navigating hair loss, raises awareness, and advocates for better representation of women with hair loss in beauty and media spaces.
