2030 Implementation Team Update (Nov. 5, 2020)

As co-leads of the 2030 Implementation Team, we want to offer periodic updates on the progress of work on this initiative. As you may know, the Team is comprised of four groups that spring from recommendations in the 2030 Task Force Final Report. These groups are focused on Reforming the Undergraduate Experience, Creating a Radically Welcoming Campus Environment, Restructuring Schools and Colleges, and Maintaining Research Excellence.

At this point, each group has held preliminary organizing meetings, talking through the group’s charge and the areas of focus for their work. Most of the groups have formed subgroups to address specific aspects of their larger charge. Many of these subgroups have begun to meet.

For this work to be most effective, the members of the 2030 Team need to be aware of the work being done on campus as part of current initiative and to draw on expertise and advice from many in the campus community. As co-chairs, we have contacted the leaders of several ongoing campus initiatives to learn about their work and how it connects with 2030 goals. As the work of the four groups moves forward, there will be interactions between the groups and relevant governance groups, individuals, and groups on campus.
