Jill Grootemaat Pelisek is an Executive-in-Residence in the Lubar School of Business, where she is involved in mentoring activities with an emphasis on first generation students and students of color. Ms. Pelisek works with business and nonprofit organizations to provide expertise and support for mentoring programs that assist students within the Lubar School and UWM’s Helen Bader Institute of Nonprofit Management with professional and career development. She lends her expertise to special events and activities that enhance the professional development of students and alumni.

Ms. Pelisek is a retired Vice President of First Wisconsin National Bank/Firstar National Bank of Milwaukee, now US Bank, where she specialized in small business and consumer banking.

Ms. Pelisek is currently or has recently served on the boards of C.G. Schmidt, State Financial Bank, BizStarts, Columbia Health System, Columbia-St Mary’s Foundation, The Milwaukee Art Museum, The Milwaukee Ballet, The Nature Conservancy – Wisconsin, Rotary Club of Milwaukee, UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine Board of Visitors, UW-Milwaukee Foundation, UW-Milwaukee Golda Meir Library Friends, Village of River Hills Foundation, YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, Wisconsin Humane Society, and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County.

She is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, Business Advisory Council of the Lubar School of Business, Columbia-St Mary’s Health System’s Audit and Corporate Responsibility Committee, Pubic Policy Forum and the Rotary Club of Milwaukee.

Recent awards include: Distinguished Alumni Service Award, UW-Milwaukee (2013), Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Columbia College of Nursing (2013), The Business Journal Women of Influence – Mentor (2011), Zoological Society’s Emu Egg Award (2007) and Spheniscus Humboldti Award (2005), St Francis Children’s Center Community Service Award (2002, and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s William Frye Award (2001).
