    Winterdances: Resilience will present dance works that uplift the human connection through storytelling, joy, and resilience. The world premiere dances dive into our shared humanity and offer a vision of how we gather strength through community. This evening features new works by dance faculty Mair Culbreth, Ishmael Konney,  Dawn Springer, and a premiere work by acclaimed choreographer and special guest artist David Roussève.

    High School Winterdances Matinee, Talkback & Workshops

    Presenting a special matinee performance of Winterdances for high school groups and students featuring world premiere dance works, where artists present their newest ideas made with their casts and collaborators. Following the performance is a question and answer session with the students and choreographers. A short sack lunch will be followed by two workshops with UWM internationally known faculty in two techniques.

    Songs of Jubilation

    A celebration of excellence and talent from Theatre, Dance, and Music students for Black History Month! Songs of Jubilation consists of vocal and dance performances to songs by your favorite Black artists and composers.

    Springdances 2026

    Springdances premieres five bold new dance works that capture the beauty and contradictions of contemporary life. Through visceral movement and compelling imagery, these performances navigate themes that touch eveyone's lives. Four dances will be choreographed by dance faculty members, and one by a guest artist.

    Dance Summer Intensive for Emerging Dancers

    Through diverse approaches, embodied practices, and high-caliber training, dancers are exposed to physical techniques and artistry that prepare them for college auditions, dance performances, and professional careers. The four-day event is designed for artists ages 14 and up who are seeking to deepen their dance practice and discover new techniques, forging connections that support a professional dance future.

    UpStart – MFA in Dance Research Concert

    Join MFA Dance students for an evening of original, experimental choreography developed in collaboration with UWM students, alumni, and the Milwaukee community. Their dance works explore diverse choreographic questions to investigate boundaries, freedom, resilience, and memory. UpStart is a unique opportunity to experience choreography from dance artists from across the nation.
