The UWM Percussion Ensemble presents its annual Fall concert, featuring a wide variety of instruments, sounds, and compositions from different periods. The program will feature Alyssa Weinberg’s colorful “Ember II” along with other chamber works: Rich O’Meara’s “Puzzle Piece,” Juri Seo’s “VV,” and “The Song of Queztecoatl” by Lou Harrison. Other works showcasing larger ensembles include Blake Tyson’s “A Ceiling Full of Stars,” Bob Becker’s “Atenteben,” and “Fanfare for Tambourines” by John Alfieri.
The UWM Percussion Ensemble is a chamber ensemble that focuses on diverse repertoire written in the 20th and 21st centuries for percussion. Emphasizing new compositions alongside historically significant contributions to the chamber repertoire, the Percussion Ensemble features the study and performance of a variety of instruments, techniques, and music styles.
