New Play Reading – Gloria in Excelsis Deo by Joy Heatherly

Glory Dewitt is sent to an estate on the seaside for her “health” and made to recover in solitude. When Adelaide Rose washes up on the beach, the house and its inhabitants, maids, nurse, and young Glory alike, are thrown into disarray. Addressing the harsh realities of women across the class divide in the Victorian era, this new play asks how deeply society has truly changed.
