Biography

Alvaro Saar Rios has been commissioned to create work for various organizations, including Houston Grand Opera, Alley Theatre(TX), First Stage, Honolulu Theatre for Youth and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.  His work has been performed in New York City, Hawaii, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, and all over Texas!  His award-winning play Luchadora! is published by Dramatic Publishing.  He is a veteran of the US Army and a co-founder of The Royal Mexican Players, a national touring performance troupe.  Mr. Rios is a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists and a Playwright-in-Residence at Milwaukee's First Stage.
